Good Energy bolsters digital expertise with new board appointment

Good Energy has added to its digital expertise by appointing current chief information officer Timothy Jones to its board.

Jones is to serve as an independent non-executive director at Good, replacing Francesca Ecsery who announced her decision to step down earlier this year.

The clean energy utility described Jones as a technology executive with more than 20 years’ experience in digital innovation. He co-founded the car sales website before moving to the Group.

John Maltby, chairman at Good Energy, said the group was delighted to welcome Jones to the board.

“His experience of delivering business transformation through digital innovation strongly compliments the strategic direction Good Energy announced earlier this year.

“The board would like to thank Francesca for her valuable contribution to Good Energy over the years and wishes her well in the future,” he added.

Good Energy is in the midst of a digital overhaul of its supply business having spent much of the year launching and enhancing its back-end systems and consumer offering.

As well as a comprehensive update of its customer data and billing system Good has also teased personalised tariff offers and digital products, building on the success of the Selectricity product it launched in collaboration with Open Utility last year.
